…and Amara turns 4 years old

Amara celebrated her birthday with school friends at JJ Jump. A fun place to run, bounce, slide, and have fun! The cousins stayed close together throughout the party… I laughed and told Steph she could have just taken the 2 out for ice cream and they would have been thrilled.

Ready… Set… Pose for the Picture… Slide!

Amara was very excited and very proud to have so many good buddies to help her celebrate her day!

Happy 4th Birthday Amara Ann!

Red Rubies

The Red Rubies Group from Dallas, Oregon celebrated their 1st Brag-About; inviting other Red Hat Clubs from both Oregon & Washington. The turn-out was amazing as over 150 women gathered to socialize, show off their fancy hats, and celebrate the joy of being moms, sisters, grandmas, and friends.

My Mom, Sister, and Aunt Margie were invited to attend the Brag-About and Luncheon.

The Red Rubies put on a playful fashion show!

Nana showcasing bell-bottoms…

…and let me tell you, she knows how to shake it!

Isn’t her outfit great! It was complete with sunglasses attached to her shoes. She went all out and had the ladies in the room cheering and clapping at her creativity! It was fun!!

We were treated to some songs and dance from Elvis. Let me tell you, the crowd went wild! These ladies can move!

Nana and her sister Tina, aren’t they cute all dressed up and fancy in their red & purple!

We enjoyed every moment of our day spent celebrating Nana. She is one special lady; beautiful, young at heart, and full of energy! I am so proud to call her my Nana!

PreSchool Celebrations

James’ class has been learning about space at school. As a grand finale they took the kids over to OMSI to visit the space exhibit.

James enjoyed the day of playing and learning…

Another unit they’ve recently studied is Africa. As a celebration, they invited families to an African Lunch. The kids dress-up, sing songs, and share traditional African foods with their families.

Aana shared this special lunch with James. He was sad to say good-bye.

Hidden Treasure

James woke up St. Patrick’s Day morning excited and ready to head out into the yard in search of gold. He was sure the Leprechaun’s had hidden gold under the rocks in our yard. Out we went searching… no gold! James was in complete disbelief. He just knew gold had to be around somewhere, I mean it was St. Patrick’s Day!

I was sharing my story with some friends at school and one of these amazing gals, who is Irish I might add, went right to work! James came home from his day at school ready to search again… and to his surprise, he found a Leprechaun’s Treasure Box

and gold; lots and lots of gold!

and they were better than regular old gold, these were chocolate-filled gold coins!

The look on James’ face when he found the treasure box (filled with the colors of the Irish flag) and all those chocolate coins, was priceless.

!!A very BIG thank you to my good friend, Colleen the Leprechaun!!

Celebrating Stephanie

Happy Birthday Stephanie Ann!

– March 15th –

We had a houseful to help celebrate Stephanie’s special day! Abbie and Chandler decorated the house…

Mom and I made the FUN Poodle cake. Mom found the idea in my Family Fun magazine.

Another great day of family & fun!

13 years and counting

We made plans to go out for a tasty fondue dinner in Portland. We arrived early and drove around for 20 minutes, no parking to be found! We decided it was not meant to be and headed for a spot we’d heard about, but never been to. Urban Farmer sits on the 8th floor of The Nines a hotel sitting above the downtown Macy’s. It was amazing! The night could not have been planned better. The drinks, food, service, atmosphere, & conversation were all perfect!

We had our choice of sparkling water or still water. We chose still. It didn’t taste. nothing. It was like nothing but wetness had been in your mouth, we couldn’t get enough of it. It looks like water, but tastes like nothing you’ve ever tasted, literally! The picture of course does not do it justice! Just looks like plain ol’ water… but boy, did we have fun drinking that water!

Our evening of perfection was topped off with this lovely dessert brought out from the kitchen with a special chocolate note attached:

It was amazing.

Five = Friends

For James turning 5 meant having a birthday celebration with his buddies! We set the date and all his friends showed up at The Kids Club for 2 hours of play-filled fun! The first hour was spent running, sliding, and moving through The Jungle, with the next hour spent re-hydrating and feeding hungry tummies! We topped it off with a special cake made by Auntie and some extra special gifts brought in by his great buddies! What a super-duper way to celebrate his 5th birthday!

The extra-special, way-cool BAKUGAN cake made with love by Auntie.

Pizza. Blowing out the Candles. Gifts.

make a wish.

As James told me the morning of the celebration, treat bags are cool cause they are a present you give your friends for coming to your party! So what did we do? We ran out after work, bought treats, and filled bags an hour before the festivities began.
